Dental Implants in Elk Grove, CA

Dental implants permanently replace a missing tooth. A titanium post is placed into your jawbone to act as a root, supporting a crown, bridge, or denture. Implants restore function, appearance, and confidence while preserving jawbone health, making them a durable, long-term solution for missing teeth.

If bone loss prevents you from receiving dental implants, we also have dental bone grafting available. This procedure will restore your jawbone so it’s strong enough to support dental implants.

01.

The Dental Implant Process

The dental implant process involves several key parts. To begin with, we examine your oral health, take X-rays or scans, and develop a treatment plan once we confirm that dental implants are the right option.

When it’s time to place your implant, we will remove damaged or remaining teeth in the area. Then a titanium post is surgically placed into your jawbone.

The implant will heal and fuse with your jawbone in the next three to six months, ensuring its secure placement.

After Your Dental Implant Is Placed

When your implant is fully fused with your jawbone, we place a connecting abutment and a personalized crown or restoration to provide a natural function and appearance.

Regular follow-up appointments will help us ensure everything is healing correctly.

FAQ

  • How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants, with proper care, can last 15 to 25 years or more, often a lifetime. The titanium post fuses with the jawbone permanently, while the crown may need replacement after 10–15 years due to wear. Good oral hygiene, regular dental visits, and avoiding smoking help extend their lifespan.

  • What do dental implants look like?

Dental implants closely resemble natural teeth. They consist of three main parts—a post (not visible once healed), an abutment that attached to the post, and a crown that looks and functions like a real tooth.

Once completed, the visible crown blends seamlessly with your surrounding teeth, making implants virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

  • Does insurance cover dental implants?

Insurance may cover dental implants, but coverage varies by plan. Many traditional plans do not cover implants fully, though some may help with parts of the procedure. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm your specific benefits. We also have an in-house dental membership plan to help you save on dental care.
